Seemingly out of nowhere (I stay very vigilent about monitoring my mirrors while I drive) this car come up on my ass like SUPER close, felt like less than a foot, and stays there.
The lane to my right is a solid line of cars with no where for me to merge over. Is this a threat? Is this inadvisable? Are there other actions I should take instead?Ĭoming home on the freeway, I'm in the carpool lane, approaching some folks who were going 60 in the carpool lane, so I slow to their speed while I wait for a chance to pass them. Ideally, I'd call him, without revealing my name (I'm not sure what information he has about me) tell him I'm going to proceed with the hit and run charge if his insurance continues to refuse to pay.
I told the state patrol officer I didn't plan on pressing a hit and run charge, as I just wanted my car to be repaired by HIS insurance (I have a $1k deductible which I will have to pay if his insurance bails) but now that having his insurance pay seems like less of an option, I want to know what steps you guys would recommend following up with. I filed a claim with my insurer, provided them the other guy's insurance info as soon as I got it, and now his insurance is saying that it's word vs word, and they won't pay. My question involves a traffic accident in the State of: WAĪbout two weeks ago, I was coming home from the Book of Mormon with my gf, and as we we're almost home, long story short, another car hit me and then took off, so I chased him, got his plates, called the WA state patrol, gave them his plate information and about a week ago they called me back and provided me with his Name, Address, DOB, LIC#, VIN, etc, but most importantly insurance information.
